Simulations are not forecasts
The fixed-rate calculator assumes the same return every year, and the Monte Carlo, portfolio and withdrawal pages draw from a statistical model fitted to past monthly returns. Neither predicts the future: past performance does not guarantee future results, and actual outcomes can fall outside every range shown. The median and the 10–90% band on those pages are a probabilistic guide that assumes future returns will behave like past ones, and nothing guarantees that assumption holds. Unless an input covers them, results leave out taxes, fees and trading costs.
